Mekong Cruises in Phnom Penh
The Amanjaya Pancam Hotel, our preferred lodging, boasts a prime location right on the banks of the Tonle Sap River, affording breathtaking vistas from your room or balcony.
In the past, wooden boats would be moored along these shores, offering guests the opportunity for a brief river cruise. However, in 2014, in an effort to maintain the cleanliness and tranquility of the city’s frontage, these crafts were relocated to the Chhoy Chhangvar side of the river.
We’re delighted to observe the recent return of these boats to our side of the river.
Although these boats primarily cater to local residents, they warmly welcome tourists and foreigners, providing a unique opportunity to interact with the local community. Prices per person generally range from $5 to $10 and usually include a beverage like soda or beer, with the option to order more while on board. Costs are typically displayed on a board for easy viewing. For those desiring a more Western-style experience, the Kanika Boat is a recommendable alternative.
